Maritza Canales

Maritza Canales is a Peruvian food industry engineer and politician serving as the Minister of Development and Social Inclusion in the cabinet of President Keiko Fujimori since July 2026. She studied food industry engineering at the National Agrarian University La Molina and completed master's studies in agri-food marketing, agribusiness, and social and environmental anthropology in Spain. Throughout her career, she has worked with international cooperation agencies, served as an advisor to the Congress of the Republic, and held diplomatic roles as an attaché in the embassy of Peru in Belgium and the general consulate of Peru in Milan.
