First elected in 2018, he has held the position of treasurer for the Tennessee State House of Representatives since 2019. A conservative and devout Christian, Cochran previously worked as a staff assistant for Senator Bob Corker and as an assistant to the McMinn County Mayor's Office. He holds a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Tennessee.
