Mark Andrew Ferguson is a British politician, journalist, and trade unionist serving as the Member of Parliament for Gateshead Central and Whickham since the 2024 general election. A former editor of the Labour-supportive website LabourList, he previously served on the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party. In September 2025, he was appointed to the ministerial position of assistant government whip. Ferguson, who studied social and political science at Cambridge, has been an active voice in party debates and supported the legalization of assisted dying in 2024.
