Marko Asell

Marko Asell is a Finnish politician and former professional wrestler who currently serves as a member of the Parliament of Finland. Born in Ylöjärvi, he gained national prominence as an elite Greco-Roman wrestler, notably winning a silver medal in the welterweight class at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Following his athletic career, Asell transitioned into politics and has represented his constituency in the Finnish Parliament across multiple terms, including the 2007–2011, 2019–2023, and 2023–2027 legislative periods.
