Tuula Haatainen

Tuula Haatainen is a Finnish politician and a long-serving member of the Parliament of Finland. A trained nurse by profession, she has held several high-level government positions, including Minister of Education from 2003 to 2005, Minister of Social Affairs and Health from 2005 to 2007, and Minister of Employment from 2019 to 2023. Beyond her ministerial roles, she served as the Deputy Mayor of Helsinki and as the Second Deputy Speaker of the Parliament. In 2018, she was the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party. She continues to be an influential figure in Finnish national politics.
