Markus Blume is a German politician serving as the Bavarian State Minister for Science and the Arts since 2022. A member of the Christian Social Union (CSU), he has represented the constituency of Munich-Ramersdorf in the Landtag of Bavaria since 2008. Previously, he served as the General Secretary of the CSU from 2018 to 2022. Before his full-time political career, Blume worked as a management consultant and co-founded a business services company. He is known for his conservative policy stances, including his advocacy for a 'Leitkultur' (guiding culture) and his opposition to the legalization of cannabis.
