Martine Hansen

Martine Hansen is a Luxembourgish politician and agricultural economist serving as the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture and Minister for Consumer Protection in the Frieden-Bettel Government since 2023, and as Minister of Sport since 2025. Born in Wiltz, she previously worked as a teacher and headmaster at the Lycée Technique Agricole. A member of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV), she served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies from 2013 to 2023, where she acted as the leader of the parliamentary opposition. Her political career has focused heavily on agricultural policy, rural development, and education, often advocating for the interests of the farming sector while navigating complex environmental and consumer protection regulations.
