
Maruja Herrera

Maruja Herrera is a Panamanian cultural leader, dancer, and politician serving as the Minister of Culture of Panama since July 2024. A former prima ballerina with the National Ballet of Panama and founder of the Ballet Academy by Maruja Herrera, she previously served as General Director of the National Institute of Culture from 2009 to 2014, where she championed historical preservation and community art initiatives.
