Tamayo Marukawa is a Japanese politician and former television announcer who currently serves as a member of the House of Representatives. A graduate of the University of Tokyo, she began her career at TV Asahi before entering politics in 2007. Over her career, she has served three terms in the House of Councillors and held several cabinet positions, including Minister of the Environment and Minister in charge of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. Known for her conservative political stances, she has been a vocal supporter of constitutional reform and the strengthening of Japan's defense capabilities. In 2026, she was elected to the House of Representatives representing Tokyo's 7th district.
