Yasuhiro Takami is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Shimane 2nd district. A graduate of the University of Tokyo, he previously worked for the Yomiuri Shimbun and served as a Maritime Self-Defense Force officer before entering politics. He began his political career as a member of the Shimane Prefectural Assembly in 2015. Since his election to the national Diet in 2021, he has held several government positions, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Justice, Assistant to the Minister of Defense, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. He is known for his focus on regional development and infrastructure investment in mountainous areas.
