Mary Gay Scanlon

Mary Gay Scanlon is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 5th congressional district since 2019. Before her election to Congress, she had a distinguished career in public interest law, working with the Education Law Center and as pro bono counsel at Ballard Spahr. A member of the Democratic Party, Scanlon focuses on issues such as fair elections, gun control, environmental protection, and access to healthcare and education. She serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Rules, and is an active advocate for foster youth and juvenile justice reform.
