Mary Kunesh is an American politician serving as a member of the Minnesota Senate, representing District 39 since 2021. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, she previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Kunesh, who is of Standing Rock Lakota descent, has focused her legislative work on education finance, rural development, and environmental policy. In 2023, she was elected as the Assistant Majority Leader of the Minnesota Senate.
