Masatoshi Shibata is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Akita Prefectural Assembly. Born in 1950 in the former town of Omomagari (now part of Yokote), he began his career in agriculture after graduating from Akita Prefectural Yokote High School. He served as a member of the Omomagari Town Council before being elected to the Akita Prefectural Assembly in 2003. Throughout his tenure, he has held significant leadership roles, including serving as the 68th Chairman of the Akita Prefectural Assembly and the 73rd Chairman of the National Association of Chairpersons of Prefectural Assemblies. His political focus has centered on agricultural development, regional revitalization, and local infrastructure.
