Masazumi Gotoda

Profile

Masazumi Gotoda is the Governor of Tokushima Prefecture, elected in 2023. Before his governorship, he served eight terms as a member of the House of Representatives, where he held various positions including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office and Chairman of the House of Representatives Special Committee on Reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake. A graduate of Keio University, he previously worked at Mitsubishi Corporation. Throughout his political career, Gotoda has been known for his focus on regulatory reform, sports industrialization, and fiscal policy. He is a relative of the late influential politician Masaharu Gotoda.
