Matthew Garwood

Matthew Garwood is an Australian politician and professional performer who currently serves as the Mayor of Launceston, Tasmania. Before entering local government, he gained national recognition as a finalist on the 2014 season of The Voice and subsequently released his debut album, The Tattooed Tenor. Garwood transitioned into public service in 2022, when he was elected as a councillor and Deputy Mayor of the Launceston City Council. He later assumed the role of Mayor following the resignation of his predecessor.
