Matthew Lesser

Matthew Lesser is an American politician serving as a member of the Connecticut State Senate, representing the 9th district since 2019. Previously, he served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 2009 to 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, Lesser has been a prominent advocate for healthcare reform, including the passage of mental health parity laws, insulin cost caps, and expanded telehealth access. Throughout his legislative career, he has focused on consumer protection, student loan rights, and environmental safety, while also working as an executive director for the Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut.
