Matthias Hauer is a German lawyer and politician who has served as a member of the Bundestag for the Essen III district since 2013. A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he has held the position of Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Research since 2025. Throughout his parliamentary career, Hauer has focused on finance and digital policy, notably serving as a rapporteur during the Wirecard scandal.
