Maura Healey is an American politician and lawyer serving as the 73rd Governor of Massachusetts since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the Massachusetts Attorney General from 2015 to 2023, where she became the first openly lesbian woman elected as a state attorney general in the United States. Her career includes work as a civil rights attorney and a partner at the law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. As governor, she has focused on climate policy, tax reform, and gun control measures.
