A native of South Bend, Indiana, she succeeded her father, former Speaker B. Patrick Bauer, in the state legislature. In the legislature, she serves as the ranking member of the House Agriculture and Rural Development Committee and acts as a co-chair of the Indiana chapter of the Future Caucus.
