Mauricio Gómez Amín is a Colombian politician and lawyer currently serving as a Senator of the Republic of Colombia. He began his public career as a councilman in Barranquilla, a position he held for several years, before being elected to the Colombian House of Representatives for the department of Atlántico in 2014. During his time in the House, he was noted for leading political control debates that resulted in the intervention of the utility company Electricaribe. He holds a law degree and a specialization in public law from the Universidad del Norte.
