広田 まゆみ

Mayumi Hirota is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Hokkaido Prefectural Assembly, representing the Shiroishi Ward of Sapporo. Born in Hakodate and raised in Sapporo, she graduated from Hokkaido University before beginning her career as a caseworker for the Hokkaido prefectural government. After spending eleven years in the civil service and gaining experience in labor union leadership, she transitioned to the non-profit sector, focusing on urban-rural exchange and community development. Inspired by her background in social entrepreneurship, she entered politics to advocate for sustainable regional development and to support younger generations. Hirota is known for her interest in community-based marketing and her advocacy for social entrepreneurship within local government, aiming to revitalize local communities through innovative, citizen-led initiatives.
