Mercè Perea Conillas

Mercè Perea Conillas is a Spanish politician serving as a member of the Congress of Deputies. Born in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, she holds a law degree from the University of Bologna. Before her national parliamentary career, she served as a city councillor in her hometown from 2007 to 2016. A member of the Socialists' Party of Catalonia, Perea has been a notable voice within the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, famously voting against the investiture of Mariano Rajoy in 2016. She has advocated for political dialogue regarding the Catalan independence movement, supporting reconciliation efforts led by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
