Mercina Claesen is a Belgian politician and the youngest member of the Flemish Parliament, serving since 2024. Born in Genk in 2002, she holds a master's degree in social policy from KU Leuven. During her academic years, she was involved with the Nationalistische Studentenvereniging. Claesen has been active in the Vlaams Belang Jongeren (VBJ) since her teenage years, serving as a spokesperson and provincial coordinator for Limburg. She previously worked as a special education teacher before her election to the regional parliament.
