Meredith Hammat

Meredith Hammat is an Australian politician serving as the Minister for Health in Western Australia. A member of the Labor Party, she has represented the electorate of Girrawheen in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since 2025, having previously served as the member for Mirrabooka from 2021 to 2025. Before her parliamentary career, Hammat held significant roles in the labor movement, including working for the Australian Services Union and serving as the State Secretary of UnionsWA from 2012 to 2020. She holds degrees in politics and industrial relations from the University of Western Australia.
