Meryl Swanson is an Australian politician who has represented the Division of Paterson in the House of Representatives since 2016. A member of the Labor Right faction, she previously worked in broadcasting and as a business manager before entering federal politics. Following the 2022 election, she was appointed chair of the House Standing Committee on Agriculture, where she led a significant inquiry into Australia's food systems. She continues to serve as the chair of the committee, now renamed the Primary Industries Committee.
