Meutya Hafid

Meutya Hafid is an Indonesian politician and former journalist currently serving as the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs. Before her ministerial appointment, she was a prominent member of the People's Representative Council, where she chaired the First Commission overseeing defense, foreign affairs, and communications. Hafid gained national recognition as a journalist for Metro TV, notably surviving a kidnapping ordeal while reporting in Iraq in 2005. She holds a degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Indonesia.
