Michael Bates, Baron Bates

Michael Bates, Baron Bates is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as a life peer in the House of Lords since 2008. Previously, he represented the constituency of Langbaurgh in the House of Commons from 1992 to 1997 and held various ministerial positions, including Minister of State at the Home Office and the Department for International Development. Known for his extensive charity work, he has completed multiple long-distance walks to raise awareness for the Olympic Truce and international humanitarian causes.
