Michael J. Jones is an American politician and pastor serving as a member of the Senate of Virginia for the 15th district since 2026. Previously, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2024 to 2025 and on the Richmond City Council from 2016 to 2023, where he held the position of Council President. Throughout his career, Jones has focused on criminal justice reform, including legislation to ban auto sears and proposals to address police use of force and correctional conditions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry.
