Michael Moynihan

Michael Moynihan is an Irish politician who has served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cork North-West constituency since 1997. A dairy farmer by profession, he entered national politics by unseating a sitting Fine Gael TD in his first general election. Throughout his long parliamentary career, he has held various leadership roles, including chair of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Education and Science and Opposition Chief Whip. In January 2025, he was appointed as Minister of State at the Department of Education and Youth.
