Michelle Hinchey is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Senate for the 41st district. Born in 1987 and raised in Saugerties, New York, she is the daughter of former Congressman Maurice Hinchey. Before entering politics, she worked as a communications executive and served on the board of the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development. First elected to the Senate in 2020, she assumed office in 2021 and currently chairs the Senate Agriculture Committee, where she has focused on initiatives such as farm soil health programs.
