Mike Derby is an American businessman and politician currently serving as a member of the South Dakota House of Representatives for the 34th district. First elected to the state legislature in 1996, he served until 2002, during which time he chaired the Military Affairs Committee and the Ellsworth Task Force. After a hiatus, he returned to the House in 2021. Outside of his legislative career, Derby is a business owner who has served as the chair of the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce and as a board member for Visit Rapid City.
