Mike Reader is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Northampton South since 2024. Before entering politics, he had a long career in the construction industry, working for firms such as Pick Everard and Mace, where he served as an operations director on NHS projects during the COVID-19 pandemic. His political ambitions were shaped by his observations of public sector infrastructure needs during the 2010s. In addition to his parliamentary duties, he was elected chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Infrastructure in November 2024.
