山田美樹

Miki Yamada is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. A graduate of the University of Tokyo and Columbia Business School, she previously worked at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the Boston Consulting Group, and Hermès Japon. Throughout her political career, she has held positions including State Minister of the Environment and Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs. Yamada is a proponent of constitutional reform, including the formal recognition of the Self-Defense Forces, and supports the maintenance of current defense spending policies. She has also been involved in debates regarding gender equality and energy policy, consistently advocating for the restart of nuclear power plants that meet new safety standards.
