Takashi Fujiwara is a Japanese politician and lawyer serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Nishiwaga, Iwate, he graduated from Shizuoka University and later completed his legal training. Before entering politics, he worked as an attorney and served as a public secretary to a member of the House of Councillors. First elected to the Diet in 2012, he has held various government positions, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Finance. Fujiwara has been involved in several controversies, including his participation in a 2024 Liberal Democratic Party youth division event that drew public criticism, leading to his resignation as the division's director. Politically, he is known for his conservative stances, supporting constitutional revision and the maintenance of the current energy policy, while opposing selective separate surnames for married couples.
