A former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot and federal prosecutor, she previously served as the U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 11th congressional district from 2019 to 2025. Throughout her career, she has been recognized as a moderate Democrat, focusing on issues such as government accountability, affordability, and national security. She is the first female military veteran to be elected governor of any U.S. state.
