Miloš Vystrčil is a Czech politician serving as the President of the Senate since 2020 and as a Senator for Jihlava since 2010. Born in Dačice in 1960, he studied mathematics and physics at Masaryk University and initially worked as a teacher. He entered politics with the Civic Democratic Party, later serving as Mayor of Telč and as regional governor of the Vysočina Region. Vystrčil gained international attention in 2020 when he led a high-profile business delegation to Taiwan, declaring 'I am a Taiwanese' in an address to the Taiwanese parliament despite strong objections from the Chinese government.
