Mirela Kumbaro

Mirela Kumbaro Furxhi is an Albanian politician and academic currently serving as the Minister of Education of Albania since September 2025. A member of the Socialist Party, she has held several high-level government positions, including Minister of Tourism and Environment from 2021 to 2025 and Minister of Culture from 2013 to 2019. Before entering politics, she worked as a translator, publisher, and international expert on intercultural projects, and has served as an associate professor of linguistics at the University of Tirana since 2012. She was first elected to the Parliament of Albania representing Gjirokastër County in 2017.
