Moira Were is an Australian community leader, public participation practitioner, and local government politician who has served as the Mayor of the City of Onkaparinga since 2022. A trained social worker, she has held senior leadership roles across the community and not-for-profit sectors, including serving as the Global Executive Director of the International Association for Public Participation. In 2019, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her significant contributions to social justice, volunteering, and mentoring women in leadership.
