Molly Cook is an American politician and registered nurse currently serving as a member of the Texas State Senate for the 15th district. Elected in a 2024 special election, she made history as the first openly LGBTQ+ person to serve in the Texas Senate and the first woman to represent her district. A progressive Democrat, Cook advocates for reproductive healthcare access and has centered her political platform on healthcare reform and community-focused policy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Master of Public Health and a Master of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University.
