Monica Anisie is a Romanian politician and educator currently serving as a member of the Senate of Romania. She previously held the position of Minister of Education and Research in the Orban cabinets from 2019 to 2020. Before entering national government, she worked as a teacher of Romanian language and literature and served as a presidential advisor on education policy to Traian Băsescu. Anisie is active within the National Liberal Party (PNL), where she has served as the president of the PNL Sector 2 branch and as a coordinator for the party's pre-university education commission.
