Monica-Elena Berescu is a Romanian politician serving as a member of the Chamber of Deputies, representing Iași County since 2020. A member of the Save Romania Union (USR), she previously served as the leader of the Freedom, Unity and Solidarity Party in Iași from 2019 to 2021. In 2021, she was nominated as the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalisation in the cabinet proposed by Dacian Cioloș. She continues to be active in national politics, having been re-elected to her parliamentary seat in 2024.
