Morgan Griffith is an American politician and lawyer serving as the U.S. representative for Virginia's 9th congressional district since 2011. Before his election to Congress, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1994 to 2011, where he became the first Republican in state history to hold the position of House Majority Leader. A member of the Freedom Caucus, Griffith is known for his conservative stances on fiscal policy, gun rights, and energy, often advocating for an 'all of the above' energy strategy that includes fossil fuels. He holds a law degree from Washington and Lee University and previously practiced law in Salem, Virginia.
