Motoharu Nakajima is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Osaki, Miyagi Prefecture. Born in 1962 in Osaki, he initially worked in agriculture, specializing in rice cultivation and Japanese black cattle breeding. He began his political career in 2003, serving six terms as a member of the Miyagi Prefectural Assembly, where he also held the positions of Chairman of the Assembly and Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party's prefectural chapter. In 2026, he resigned from the assembly to successfully run for mayor as an independent candidate, winning the election in April of that year.
