Murat Kurum is a Turkish politician and engineer currently serving as the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Born in 1976, he holds a degree in construction engineering from Selçuk University and a master's degree in urban transformation from Okan University. Before his ministerial career, he held significant roles at the Mass Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) and Emlak Konut GYO. In addition to his ministerial duties, he was appointed as the President of the 2026 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya.
