Mutale Nalumango

Mutale Nalumango is a Zambian educator and politician currently serving as the 14th Vice President of Zambia. Born in Kaputa, she began her career as a teacher and was active in the Secondary Schools’ Teachers Union of Zambia before entering politics in 2001. She served as a Member of Parliament for Kaputa and held ministerial positions, including Minister of Labour and Social Security and Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services. Nalumango made history as the first female Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia. In 2021, she became the second woman to hold the office of Vice President of Zambia.
