鈴木直道

Naomichi Suzuki is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Governor of Hokkaido. He previously served as the Mayor of Yubari, where he gained national attention for his efforts to manage the city's financial reconstruction following its declaration as a bankrupt municipality. A former Tokyo Metropolitan Government official, Suzuki was dispatched to Yubari in 2008, eventually resigning from his metropolitan post to run for mayor. Throughout his career, he has focused on fiscal reform, regional revitalization, and crisis management, notably implementing early COVID-19 countermeasures in Hokkaido that were recognized as a successful model. He is known for his pragmatic approach to governance and his emphasis on attracting major industrial investments, such as the semiconductor manufacturer Rapidus to the region.
