Naquetta Ricks is a Liberian-American politician, businesswoman, and accountant serving as a member of the Colorado House of Representatives for the 40th district. Born in Liberia, she immigrated to the United States during the First Liberian Civil War and was raised in Aurora, Colorado. Before her election in 2020, she worked as an accountant and operated a mortgage business. Ricks made history as the first Black immigrant elected to the Colorado Statehouse and is recognized as one of the first two Liberian-Americans elected to a state legislature in the United States.
