Neil Rafferty

Neil Rafferty is an American politician serving as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives for District 54 since 2018. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he previously worked as the director of research and development for Birmingham AIDS Outreach. In the legislature, he serves as the House Democratic Whip and advocates for LGBTQ and racial equity, veterans' issues, and Medicaid expansion. Rafferty has been recognized for his legislative work on economic development and healthcare access, including efforts to reduce taxes on essential goods.
