Sir Nic Dakin is a British politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Scunthorpe since 2024, having previously held the seat from 2010 to 2019. A member of the Labour Party, he has served as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household since September 2025. Before returning to Parliament, he had a distinguished career in education as a principal at John Leggott College and served as leader of the North Lincolnshire Council. Throughout his parliamentary career, Dakin has held various roles, including Opposition Whip and Shadow Minister for Schools. He was knighted in 2020 for his political service.
