Nikema Williams is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 5th congressional district since 2021. Before her election to Congress, she served in the Georgia State Senate from 2017 to 2021 and held the position of Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia from 2019 until 2025. A graduate of Talladega College, Williams previously worked in public policy for Planned Parenthood Southeast and as a state director for the National Domestic Workers Alliance. Her legislative focus includes financial services, maternal health, and civil rights advocacy.
